Founded in 2016 from an idea by Antonio G. Lauro, the Contest, since its first edition, has been inducted by World Ranking Extra Virgin Olive Oil (organisation specialised in the best EVOOs promotion) among the top five international extra virgin olive oil contests and the first in Italy.
The EVO International Olive Oil Contest® aims to promote and enhance the highest quality of EVOO and Flavoured EVOO Industry. That’s why it allows access to the competition only to producers able to guarantee traceability and origin of their products.
To ensure the correct functioning of the competition and its results, ahighly qualified jury was found, composed by international figures.. The judges, engaged in the tasting sessions, evaluate with professionalism and impartiality the samples submitted.

We are pleased to announced the winners of the EVO IOOC Italy 2023 Gold and Silver Medals. The Best International, Best in Class, Best of Country e Special Awards categories will be announce during the Awards Ceremony on June 30th 2023.

In fact, registering for EVO IOOC Italy will allow participation in the Project “Traceability of EVOOs“, a study on the identification of Extra Virgin Olive Oils promoted by the Council for research in agriculture and the analysis of the agricultural economy – Research Centre for Olive, Fruit and Citrus Crops (CREA OFA).
To participate, companies can send one bottle or other suitable container of 100 ml, even if not labeled. The results of which will be made available for consultation later.
EVO IOOC Italy still chooses Calabria for its eighth edition of EVO IOOC – International Olive Oil Contest.
In 2023, the Evo IOOC team has chosen again the City of Palmi as the stage of the 8th of the EVO International Olive Oil Contest.
The contest, ranked as one of the most important in the world, was included by WREVOO (World Ranking Extra Virgin Olive Oil) among the first competitions dedicated to extra VIRGIN olive oil and extra virgin olive oil condiments.
The prestigious event, scheduled from May 14th to 17th 2023, will present the excellence of the 2022/2023 oil campaign to the whole world, with the winners of the highly coveted trophies and the Gold and Silver Medals announced on May 27th 2023.
An event that will focus attention on the enchanting town of Palmi, heart of the Costa Viola, city of sea and cradle of many popular traditions, which will celebrate its most important festival in 2023 – La Varia di Palmi – recognized by UNESCO as an oral and intangible heritage of humanity.
