The competition was born in 2016 from the idea of Dr Antonio G. Lauro, a long-time international panel leader, and Stefania Reggio. Thanks to its growing success, the Contest has been included by EVOOWR (Extra Virgin Olive Oil World Ranking, an organisation specialised in promoting the best EVOOs) in the first place among international extra virgin olive oil competitions. In fact, as stipulated by the ranking, success in the EVO IOOC Italy gives companies the chance to gain ten points for the world ranking.
The EVO International Olive Oil Contest® aims to promote and encourage the highest quality in the EVOO and Flavoured EVOO industry. That’s why it only allows producers who can guarantee the traceability and origin of their products to take part in the competition.
In order to guarantee the correct functioning of the competition and its results, a highly qualified jury of international personalities has been found. The judges, who take part in the tasting sessions, evaluate the samples submitted with professionalism and impartiality.
