At this point, we are talking about Prosperato Company of Rafael Marchetti (Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil), the reigning international champion in the EVO IOOC Italy 2023.

At Prosperato, the slogan is “Educating people about the EVOO”. The company was founded more than 40 years ago as a nursery company dedicated to the production of forest seedlings. In 2011, in the very heart of the city of Barra do Ribeiro, it invested in the olive sector, specialising in plant and tree growing and laid the first stone of olive plantations. Following the acquisition of an olive grove already in production in the town of Caçapava do Sul and thanks to a favourable and mild climate, the olive trees grew quickly and after only a few years (2013) they started off by producing EVOO in their own oil mill. Today, the company, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary, has in its possession around 220 hectares of olive groves in the fazende of Caçapava do Sul, São Sepé, Barra do Ribeiro and Sentinela do Sul, but the figures are growing rapidly.

“We are not a 100-year-old company, like some European brands”, explains Rafael Marchetti Director of Prosperato, “but when it comes to Brazilian products, we are already a point of reference in terms of quality, both in the domestic and foreign markets. Prosperato is the only Brazilian company that covers the entire olive oil production chain, from seedling production to retail business.

We have had a record harvest this year, with almost 400 tonnes of olives and 50 tonnes of extra virgin olive oil. We have been absolutely delighted with all the awards we have won, which prove, year after year, the quality and high standard of our oils, living up to the trust we have been receiving from our consumers for years on end, Marchetti points out. Prosperato is also among the habitués of the EVO IOOC Italy top ranking, hitting a winning streak that started off already in 2018 (Best International Monovarietal 2018 – South Hemisphere) and winning two further trophies in 2019 (Best International Award 2019 – South Hemisphere and Best of Brazil 2019), as well as in 2020 (Best International Coupage 2020 – South Hemisphere and Best of Brazil 2020). Again with an absolute award in 2021 (Best International Award 2021 – South Hemisphere) and in 2022 (Best International Flavoured EVOO 2022 – South Hemisphere). In addition to being the most award-winning company in Brazil, Prosperato proudly displays the prestigious recognition it has also received in the EVO IOOC Italy 2023, the Best International Monovarietal 2023 – South Hemisphere trophy with Prosperato Exclusivo Picual Extra Virgin Olive Oil, a category in which it is the reigning champion, as well as being the Best Monovarietal EVOO to beat in the year 2024.
