The award-winning EVOO: Azeite Sabiá – Blend de Terroir, olive varieties Arbequina, Arbosana, Coratina, Koroneiki.
At the Brazilian company, the proud motto is “Azeite Sabiá, the handcrafted spirit”. “We love what we do and how we do it: with kindness, precision and everything is handmade”, this is the leitmotif behind Azeite Sabiá’s entrepreneurial choices. It all started when the company discovered that this land, until then used for cattle breeding, was actually a gold mine, nothing less than liquid gold. So it was that, believing in the quality of that particular terroir, in 2014 the first plantation of 17 hectares got off the ground, comprising 4,500 olive trees, boosted in 2017 with the purchase of 440 hectares of land in Encruzilhada do Sul, which increased the investment with 32,800 new olive trees and 110 hectares.
It was not until 2018 that our own Sabiá olive oil went into full production; the oil is made from the olives of the Campo Alto Farm (Fazenda do Campo Alto), which together with the Fazenda Sabiá da Vigia gave life to the company. You can also enjoy rural tourism at Sabiá. Since having direct contact with nature and agriculture, going for a stroll in an olive garden and acquiring a more detailed knowledge of olive oils are unforgettable experiences, the Fazenda do Campo Alto welcomes its visitors on a journey into the world of oil, from the planting of olive trees to the oil extraction stages, offering a grand tasting of the different types of EVOOs produced on the farm.
In addition to being one of the most award-winning companies in Brazil (with almost 90 awards), a feather in Azeite Sabiá’s cap is the Best of South America – Raul C. Castellani award-winning obtained in 2022 in addition to the very recent Best of Brazil 2023 received in Italy in the 8th edition of the EVO IOOC Italy, a category in which they are the reigning champions, as well as being the best Brazilian Extra Virgin Olive Oil to beat in the year 2024.
