The tenth edition of this prestigious competition featured an incredible total of 707 samples, submitted by 29 countries and originating from 26 producing countries. A global event that attracted the attention of experts and olive oil enthusiasts from around the world.
The decision on the winners was entrusted to a high-level international jury, composed of judges from Brazil, Croatia, Japan, Greece, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Tunisia, and Turkey, who, over three days of intense and passionate tastings, evaluated the samples in the competition, rewarding the 2024/2025 olive oil excellences, authentic masterpieces from every corner of the world.
Surprising numbers, commented President Antonio G. Lauro, which highlight a growing and resilient sector despite the difficulties of recent years. In fact, the number of participating products has increased significantly, and the average quality of extra virgin olive oils and condiments has been simply exceptional.
In terms of awards, a total of 552 highly prestigious gold and silver medals were distributed. Italy stands out in a resounding way, winning the highest number of awards: 144 Gold and Silver medals. Turkey follows with 91 medals, Greece with 83, and Brazil with 49 medals awarded. Spain, with 42 Gold and Silver medals, completes a picture of excellence that makes everyone proud.
