At Kibbutz Magal, the motto is ‘Here you feel the power of sacrifice made to the earth’. The organisation of the Kibbutz, founded in 1953 and located halfway between Tel Aviv and Haifa, is complex. Inside we come across the world’s leading irrigation company, “Netafim”, as well as the “Tlamim” centre, where people with special needs and young people at risk undergo “pet-therapy”, in addition to “Masik”, which specializes in the production of EVOO. Indeed Masik of Kibbutz Magal is the leading EVOO brand in Israel, which cultivates its 700 dunams (70 hectares) in the historic oil land of Emek Hefer, characterised by rich soil and optimal temperatures.
The olive tree has always characterised this region of Kibbutz and even today, when visiting it, one can come across centuries-old, robust olive trees. It is possible to visit, by appointment, the Kibbutz, meet the people behind the Masik brand, listen to their stories, learn about the cultivation and extraction of the oil, as well as learn how to taste the farm’s oils, almonds and all the products grown on Kibbutz Magal.
The awards received: yet another year of satisfaction for the management of Kibbutz Magal – Masik Corporation, which adds to the historic awards, thanks to their Koroneiki EVOO, the prestigious Best of Israel 2023 Trophy, obtained in the 8th EVO IOOC Italy, a category in which it is the reigning champion, in addition to being the best Israeli Extra Virgin Olive Oil to beat in the year 2024.
